It’s amazing whenever you start something, you don’t think it will be a success or last as long as you had first imagined! Anyhow, I asked all the old seasoned ham operators back in 1992 whenever I was newly licensed the question of why there were no 2 meter FM simplex nets. To my surprise, I could never get an answer. Well, that was the first idea I had to get one started. This net originally began back in early 1993. The original frequency was 146.535. After quite a while of running the net there, it was decided to move to 146.520. Now looking back, I wish I would have kept better records, never knowing this net would survive and thrive as it has and seems to continue to do so. There was a time several years back whenever I was working too many hours to regularly call this net, it had dwindled down to almost non-existence. I want it to be known to all and appreciated by many others and especially myself that if it weren’t for Karl K5MAN and David K5DMH, this net may not be what it is today!!! Oh, one other note, we can all thank Marliam KC5BTF, for the naming of this net!!
